“ Onlookers shouldn’t be surprised or impressed by the bishops’ status as Catholic authorities, Texas Right to Life president Jim Graham argued at the time: “When you have many of the Texas bishops voting three, four, 10 times in the last Democratic primaries, so it’s kind of become an arm of the progressives.”
“ French authorities opened an investigation into Ventura in January after a junior official at Paris City Hall accused him of molestation.
The Vatican lifted Ventura’s diplomatic immunity in July so he could be questioned by prosecutors.
Ventura has not commented on the allegations.”
“ Top church sex abuse attorney Jeff Herman said he spent the past 12 months preparing the suit and speculated the settlement could reach into the billions — likening it to the recent enormous sums Purdue Pharma, the manufacturer of Oxycontin, paid over the opiod crisis.
“What we now know is that the Holy See through the Pope issued very specific rules and policies instructuring bishops to keep secret information about kids being sexually abused by priests,” Herman told The Post.
“Because of that policy, families were not warned, kids were exposed to pedophiles, pedophile priests, and molested. They specifically kept it secret,” he continued.”
“ The model for calculating the degree of theft was used in a recent documentary titled Thievery: Catholic Church Exposed. According to producers, thievery in the United States has reached epidemic proportions, as illustrated by the 97 non-sex abuse cases of $100,000 or more uncovered in the recent documentary — and that’s only the tip of the iceberg, for researchers project over 90% of the thievery cases go unreported.
Further, based upon validated research models and confirming data from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, it’s estimated that more than $1 billion is stolen annually from the U.S. Catholic Church.
Theft of enormous sums of money has gotten little attention in the Church, but that is changing, as new reports begin to surface. Hundreds of millions stolen from the Vatican’s Peter’s Pence annual collection, $25 million ripped last year from the American-based Papal Foundation, hundreds of thousands paid out in cash by the perverted Theodore McCarrick, West Virginia Bp. Michael Bransfield’s regular stealing of huge amounts and so forth.”
“ While McCarrick lives off his millions in retirement, lowly workers in dioceses which are financially reeling from the abuse scandal find themselves out of luck. In the old days, the Church would have called that a “sin that cries out to heaven for vengeance.” But in the church of Pope Francis, those most responsible for hiding McCarrick suffer nothing and often enjoy promotions. No doubt the reason for the delay in the Vatican’s report on the McCarrick scandal is that it implicates not only members of Francis’s inner circle but Pope Francis himself, who had been told of McCarrick’s predations and ignored them. Cardinal Sean O’Malley had risibly suggested last November the delay was due to slow translation work. Surely, it is due to difficulties in finessing the pope’s role in the mess and having to explain why its stain hasn’t been erased — a stain that is visible at the highest levels of the Church where his protégés continue to hold power.”
“ Bishop Schneider writes: “One might say that the intervention of Cardinal Sarah has provoked, so to speak, the anger of hell.”
Cardinal Sarah, he says, has “given voice” to numerous bishops, priests and laity, who have been “stifled” by “influential groups” that are lauded by the world but may rightly be numbered among the “enemies of the Catholic Faith.”
