3 See Jesus, see the Father

Note this is probably after 3 years of seeing Jesus heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, preach the Good News, forgive sinners, actions only God can do.

Jn 14:9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seethe Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

4 Jesus is the clearest revelation of the Father

Note truly, truly this is like boldening in the Scripture, pay attention

Jn 5:19 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he seethe Father doing; for whatever he does, that the Son does likewise.

5 The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus

1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus be cursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit.

Cultural lost sense of divine and paternal. Rapid destruction films 1950’s Father Knows Best to 1980s fat slob of dad can hardly open can of beer by himself. Nagging crotchety wife. Impact cultural.

6 Baptism elevates us to the status of adoptive children of God, more than Creator/creature

Jesus commands that we are to be born of water and spirit.

Jn 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

CCC 1265 Baptism not only purifies from all sins, but also makes the neophyte “a new creature,” an adopted son of God,who has become a “partaker of the divine nature,” member of Christ and co-heir with him, and a temple of the Holy Spirit.[1]

1 Jn 3:1 See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Create hagiography of past or they are all fools. We presume normal human beings, man’s salvation history leading to moment of incarnation, lost enough awareness of God the /father could not recognize the Son. Here we are today. Movies from 1950’s quaint, naivete, as opposed to being proper and just.

Truth dwell within us from baptism, confirmation, today an authentic witness of great truths given at great price. Patrimony is not cheap.

Patrimony, handed on, look at richness of Church general easiness, Church never run out of graces. Liked the government, seemed monolithic, never run out.

The graces are not being recoup, spend down inheritance of elders, economy of salvation. Oikonomia
