Laity Response

Good Questions. “Should such an investigation reveal that the U.S. government interfered inappropriately into the affairs of the Catholic Church, we further request the release of the results so that Catholics may request appropriate action from those elements of our hierarchy who remain loyal to the teachings of the Catholic Church. Please understand that we are not requesting an investigation into the Catholic Church; we are simply asking for an investigation into recent activities of the U.S. Government, of which you are now the chief executive.” https://remnantnewspaper.com/web/index.php/articles/item/3001-did-vatican-attempt-to-influence-u-s-election-catholics-ask-trump-administration-to-investigate

The money words: lie and never trust. “The Archdiocese of New York told a California college this month that a local priest had never been accused of sexual abuse, even while the priest was being investigated by the archdiocese for several abuse charges. An administrator at the college called the letter “a lie,” and said she can no longer trust assurances from the archdiocese.” https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/ny-archdiocese-issued-suitability-letter-for-priest-under-abuse-investigation-37414

The massive, massive nightmare is far from over.

“Irish premier Leo Varadkar siad: “We have to pass legislation in the Oireachtas giving us, the government, the power to do the excavations.

“Because, for lots of reasons, we don’t have the power to do that. So we’ll have to pass that legislation in the New Year, and we’d envisage carrying out the first excavations in the second half of 2019.

“In the meantime, though, we can start appointing the experts and the ground team who’ll be doing the actual work.”

“In other words, it is business as usual in the Church. Unless pressure from the secular media or state authorities causes the Church to act, its officials remain willing to run interference for priests like Hernan Arias. They simply don’t think it is a big deal that the Kevin Spacey types in the Church prey upon male teenagers. In the archdiocese of New York City, it came out recently that a gay pederast was still serving in parishes even after Church pay-outs to his victims. It wasn’t until the New York Times’s exposé of the matter that Cardinal Dolan cut the priest loose.” https://spectator.org/business-as-usual-in-the-church/
