So true. It will follow him the rest of his life. It could be you or me the next time. “For the mob to just go tear apart a 16-year-old boy is inexcusable,” McMurtry told the media. “He’ll never be able to get away from this.” https://www.breitbart.com/crime/2019/02/03/lawyers-catholic-student-nick-sandmann-prepare-sue-media-celebrities-libel/
Our Faith is not founded on the occupants in the hierarchy. It is solely founded on Christ, and to the extent, those who are inline with Him. It was the laity in large part that preserved the faith during the Arian crisis, and only the laity that preserved the Faith through the centuries in Japan. The faithful have plenty of resources to turn to while this massive massive crisis plays out. “while we recognize the value of the Church’s history, we also recognize that the real point of Catholicism is our faithful connection to Jesus and our corresponding works, which silently preach that faith. To be good Catholics, we don’t actually need the specific individuals who populate today’s hierarchy. We will ride it out until these weak-kneed vicars are flushed, and we will pray that perhaps our children will one day see competent leadership. From top to bottom, the clergy are driving more and more of their flock away from their guidance. Quite simply, by their actions and inactions, they are one by one, making themselves irrelevant.” https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/02/catholic_clergy_making_themselves_irrelevant.html
Colleagues this is not some stories of long dead priests. It is a clear & present danger. What did it take, again, secular reporting. “Catholic Charities was unaware of this arrangement and only learned of it from a television news story. https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2018/09/27/father-james-nowak-priest-sex-abuse-moves-into-hotel-joliet-catholic-charities/
Not a scandal of years gone by. Not a scandal similar to other organizations with perverts in their midst. Anyone who says so should be shunned.
“Instead of helping Jankowski protect his parishioners from sexual predators, Conlon actually warned Jankowski in 2011 that he’d “hold him personally responsible for any cases of sexual abuse occurring at St. Patricks,” said Jankowski.
Matters grew worse that year as Jankowski became aware that clerics who were quietly removed from ministry for allegations of sexual abuse were housed near churches and schools without the diocese alerting school officials, local law enforcement or parents. This scandal was reported just last fall by local news stations.
“Bishop Conlon consistently has shifted predator priests removed from active ministry from one residential neighborhood to

As a Catholic wife, mother & theologian I am tired of the likes of you. Please peddle your drivel elsewhere. Do you have no shame piling on the boys? You know well how this was a set up. How much money does the Democrats contribute to your diocese? Do you ever pray at an abortion mill? Have you tried to raise your kids Catholic with the disgraceful example of the hierarchy? Is there no appreciation for the efforts Trump has made for the unborn & handicapped? Dear Lord, rescue Your Church. The shepherds are wolves in sheep clothing .
“As the leader of the Catholic Church in the 50 counties of Central and Eastern Kentucky, I join the Diocese of Covington and other Catholic leaders in apologizing in the wake of this incident.
I am ashamed that the actions of Kentucky Catholic high school students have become a contradiction of the very reverence for human life that the march is supposed to manifest. As such, I believe that U.S. Catholics must take a look at how our support of the fundamental right to life has become separated from the even more basic truth of the dignity of each human person.”

How sad when the teen boys are more noble than the clergy involved.
“The tension may come to a head sooner rather than later, as the students’ attorney Robert Barnes announced Wednesday on Fox News that he was putting anyone who had publicly libeled the students on 48-hour notice that if they didn’t retract those statements by Friday, they may find themselves “a defendant in a lawsuit because those lawsuits will start to occur next week.”
“If you’ve said anything false about these kids, they are willing to extend you a 48-hour time period — a period of grace consistent with their Christian faith — for you to, through confession, get redemption and retract and correct and apologize,” said Barnes, who is representing the students for free.”
Justice sought from secular sources. Again, attempted suicide is one result of the abuse. Farrell shared a house with McCarrick for a number of years yet he claims to know nothing. No voracious cries against these criminals unlike the treatment of the Covington boys. Note a pattern.
“A Vatican cardinal is being accused of minimizing priestly sex abuse, characterizing one priest’s sexual misconduct with a much younger male as consensual.
A lawsuit filed in May 2018 against the archdiocese of Dallas, Texas alleges that Fr. Timothy Heines “sexually, emotionally, and physically abused” a younger male (alias “John Doe”) and that the diocese — then under the leadership of Bp. Kevin Farrell — failed to report the abuse.

Go after the mobsters, regardless of title or position. Bishop of Lexington comes immediately to mind.
“What happens with the left, though, is they cross over into reality,” he said. “They migrate off of social media and they start calling the city of Covington to get tax records and figure out where people live. They go to their houses, and figure out where they work, and try and get the parents fired. That’s the difference. I mean, we all know Twitter’s a dumpster fire, but they try and take that fire and spread it into real life. That’s what this is. This is bullying.”
