“It more or less commemorates a Catholic doctrinal position, doesn’t it?” asked Chambers. He must be unaware that both science and religion consider miscarried children human.” http://thefederalist.com/2018/08/22/nebraska-passes-law-granting-birth-certificates-miscarried-babies/
Full disclosure, I have been a tremendous admirer of Dr Keyes wisdom and thoughts. Though I dissent against the death penalty, it is strictly on prudential, not theological grounds. Would I like the Peter Storks & the Hillary Clintons of the world in charge of deciding the fate of my life?
“God knows what we do not: the full and infinite extent of evil involved when one human being murders another. The death penalty for murderers is therefore not so much an act of retributive justice, as it is a demonstration of just humility. Only God can truly judge what God alone can truly understand. But His word to all humanity enjoins us to dispatch blood-shedding murderers to Him for judgment. I would, therefore, humbly ask Pope Francis, “Who are we to sit in judgment of God’s executive order?”https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/who-are-we-to-sit-in-judgment-of-gods-executive-order
