Determine the type of garden suitable for the locale. Harsh conditions maybe a cactus garden, lush conditions Plumerias planted in the front yard as trees. Indoors vs outdoors. Watering system if needed, raised beds or inground. Indoors or outdoors. Food or beauty or a bit of both. Winter is the time to really think about these factors.
Taking stock of the conditions of your own life. Do you have a good bishop or bad, under tyranny of freedom, married or single, man or woman, time to devote to the spiritual life?
Jesus said before embarking on a task, sit down and really look at the cost

[clinical self-examination, see outside of self, am I rocky plain, seed pop up then goes fallow. Sometime consult master gardener.
