Winter & Gardening Deep Abiding Hope VI

My Father and I will dwell with that one.

Jn 14:23  23Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.[1]

It is not I who live, but Christ who lives in me.

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Garden/spiritual goals change. Before I wanted food production, now I savor the beauty and growth process. Spiritual maybe you want some sort of order, peace, surety. Then later other desires come to your heart by way of the Holy Spirit.

[Self-knowledge most important with any engagement. Content with gifts Lord gives, then use those gifts to bring forth those blooms to the person. Sadness is to not do anything because it is not everything. Know what time & stage of life one is at. Better to engage in the smallest thing rather than lamenting the larger thing.]

  1. Resolutions

Jacques Phillipe Interior Freedom pages 82 & 83

God = is the eternal present.[1] Faith required to trust in God. Not be burdened by the past or fearful of the future.

“The ladder of perfection has only step, the one we take to today.”[2] We can decide today to have trust (faith), hope, charity. Good resolutions relying on God’s strength to fulfill these good desires.”      https://karen-early.com/podcasts/interior-freedom-viii/

[Any engage with God cannot fail to bring beauty in the world. Turn back on God, we see the consequences. Everyone sees it but none engage the unrooted. Become tumble weeds unless rooted in Christ.]

  1. Saints

Gianna Mollena notes that receiving her First Holy Communion at age 5 and Confirmation at age 7 yrs was fundamental to her spirituality. (TLM, in fact all the preceding modern saints were followers of it.) Historical heritage vs few decades of faith experience.

At her Confirmation she made two resolutions 1. Rather die than commit mortal sin

& 2. Everything for Jesus.

[God cannot be out done in generosity in suffering. Modernism strictly outcome based. Absolute result. Problem to the human person. Nothing venture nothing gained. The venture is also worthwhile. God does not tell us what the outcome will exactly be, but through Him, will be gain. Multiplication of laves is through Him. World can refuse to engage not knowing the outcome, guaranteed outcome. Goodness to the physical doing. Great gift given in youth to carry through. She had eye on the final prize, not a temporal satisfaction. Looked to eternal paradise commitment at an early age.]
